My dress!!!

I ordered my dress the other day, and I am SO RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED!!!!! It'll still be a while before it comes in, and then even longer until I get to wear it, but it is halfway mine!! Ooooo I can't wait.

I bought the matching veil from J yesterday - hurray for paying half the price!

AND I bought Martha Stewart invitations from Michaels for 75% off! I was intending to make my own, but there's no way I could do so at that price. I'm feeling way ahead of schedule. Photographer, check, dress, check, save-the-dates, check, invitations, check, guest list, mostly check . . . I need to get some more addresses so I can start doing some mailing!

Less than nine months left!

Wedding dresses

It's that time! With ten months left to go, all my checklists (and recently married friends) tell me I better start shopping. My best friend from childhood just got married, and his now wife had THE most beautiful dress, which she is now selling (!!), so I've sent her a message asking if I could try it on. She wants $1200 for it, which is quite a bit over what I want to spend on a dress I'm only going to wear once in my life, but she is open to offers. . . I've decided not to worry about that until I see if it even fits. It's a 4, which would be perfect, but she has had it taken in in the waist, and she is rather petite, so I don't know. . . If it doesn't work out, I'll have to start booking appointments in bridal stores!! Hard to believe it's already time for that. Sure would be nice to win the lottery. . .

So sleepy. . .

I am so tired. Back at school, back at work, and still trying to figure out a routine. . . On the bright side, my dinner is in the oven, and as soon as Ghost Hunters is over, it will be time for bed!! Mmmm bed. . .
I'm just coming to realize that I now only have ten months left for wedding planning. Actually, tomorrow is the official minus ten month anniversary! And, while ten months seems like quite a long time, we have already been engaged for eight! Eight months that have flown by incredibly fast. I can only assume that the next ten will be even faster. Thus, it is time for me to crack down and really get to work!!!
Currently about a quarter of the way through Save the Dates. . .

Save the Dates. . .

I've grown rather weary just with the thought of making about 30 million complex Save the Date cards, not to mention how aggravating it is trying to keep the sand from pouring out - it seems my double stick foam tends to lift after awhile. . . I imagine said 30 million people opening their envelopes only to have little piles of sand falling everywhere. Thus I have created a much less intrinsic, and yet still fun (in my opinion), style of Save the Date (I considered abbreviating that to StD, but it just didn't seem right) card. I haven't quite got it down pat yet - I'm still on the search for that perfect paper, and I can't decide if the flower at the bottom makes it too busy or fills that empty space nicely. . . But these are so quick and easy to make, I just keep right on experimenting!

In the Beginning

Inspired by many others, I have decided to start myself a family blog. Though Bill and I are not yet married (401 days, according to the counter on this handy site! Yes, I am slightly. . . precocious), I figured why not start from the beginning?? Perhaps one day these pages will be filled with new homes, relaxing vacations, and even children's smiling faces (and of course, puppies), but for now there are wedding dresses, feasts, cakes, colours and themes to worry about. . . Thus begins our exciting, and, perhaps, at times, hectic (hence the blog title) life together.
